My name is Rawinia Rimene, and my journey is driven by a deep-rooted passion for resilience, authenticity, and the power of community. Growing up with strong Māori roots, I always felt a profound connection to my cultural identity. Instead of viewing it as a challenge, I embraced it wholeheartedly, knowing I had a responsibility to honor my heritage. From a young age, I realised the significance of representation and the impact our stories can have. I began sharing my experiences—both the challenges and the triumphs—through workshops, social media, and speaking engagements. I felt an immense calling to inspire others to embrace their true selves, to understand that their unique stories matter. My hope is to instill confidence and a sense of belonging in everyone I meet. As I ventured further on this path, I recognised a pressing need in my community—the desire for support and guidance among our youth. This realisation fueled my commitment to launch initiatives that empower young people. I’ve been honored to mentor and provide resources that focus on mental health, cultural education, and professional development. There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching young minds find their voice and purpose. It’s a ripple effect of hope and ambition, and I’m proud to be part of it. My voice has found its way to both national and international platforms, sparking important conversations around diversity, empowerment, sustainability and cultural identity, I am passionate about climate change and social impact. Each opportunity to share my story reinforces the belief that we all have the power to create change. I speak not just for myself but for those who may feel unheard, amplifying the message that we are all worthy of respect, love, and opportunity. As I, reflect on my journey, I feel an immense sense of gratitude. I am not just an advocate; I am a friend, a mentor, and a passionate believer in the potential of every individual.
