Millie Elder-Holmes
Hey Millie! Tell us your story?
I'm a half New Zealand Maori half Greek gal who grew up in New Zealand, I’ve been through growing up in the public eye and all that comes along with being the child of a well-known person, suffering with addiction, the loss of a parent to cancer and the murder of my partner before I left New Zealand to find myself after two such huge losses and to Connect with my Greek father and heritage.
I’ve been sharing my journey on my blog for the last 6-7 years, from good, to healing, dealing with grief, addiction being judged on a national scale, and just dealing with life in general. I care deeply for others and want to help anyone who is struggling or lost.
What are your Top 3 Priorities?
- To be kind
- Take care of myself and those I love
- Do some good in the world
Run us through your typical daily skincare routine
Sunblock is an everyday must, I use ultraceuticals 50+. But because I love to try new things my bathroom is full of creams, cleansers, masks, serums, and scrubs. Brands I love are oxygen skincare, the ordinary, carbon theory, girl native, tahi skincare, drink elephant.
What does beauty mean to you?
For me, beauty comes from within its how you hold yourself and treat others (and yourself)
Why is self-care important to you?
Because you can’t pour from an empty cup and if I want to give my best for the people around me I need to care for myself first.
How do you deal with negativity?
I don’t. I cancel it. I don’t have time for negative thinking, I want to problem solve I want to find a solution.
You inspire others daily through your online platforms, If there was only one piece of inspo-info or advice you could give right now, what would it be?
Be kinder to yourself, your so much more than you think, and you can be and have everything you want if you break it down into steps and work at it.
